Insulation Fault ("PV Isolation Low")
What the "PV Isolation Low" message on the LCD means, its possible causes, and how to troubleshoot it.
The LCD displays "PV Isolation Low".
Note
This message indicates the insulation resistance of the PV system to ground is below 2 MΩ.
Fault Analysis
The insulation resistance of the PV system to ground is lower than 2 MΩ.
Possible Causes
The solar modules, junction boxes, DC cables, inverter, AC cables, terminal blocks and other locations may have a wire short-circuited to ground or damaged insulation. The PV terminal block and the AC connection enclosure are loose, allowing water to get in.
Solution
Disconnect the grid and the inverter, then check the resistance of each component's wiring to ground one by one — it should be greater than 100 kΩ. Find the problem point and replace it.
Safety
PV and grid wiring carry dangerous voltages. Always disconnect the grid and the inverter before inspecting any component. If you are not experienced with this work, contact your supplier.
